AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) launches the latest edition of What Happens Next? The report compares the employment outcomes of disabled and non-disabled university leavers six months after graduating.

Is self employment: the better option for people with disabilites?

England’s first Disability Pride 2017

England’s first Disability Pride festival took place in Brighton. The one-day festival celebrated and educated people about all physical and mental disabilities.  The event in New Road was supported by disability charities Scope & Amaze, and was funded by a £10,000 National Lottery grant. It was the brainchild of Jenny Skelton who has three adopted children, all with special needs.

The event ran concurrently with Disability Pride events in New York & Italy.

Wheelchair man: Turning myself into a superhero

“I want to celebrate the powers and abilities that wheelchair users have”      

Mohammad Sayed was abandoned by his family in Afghanistan after his house was bombed and he was left paralysed. Now he has become a US citizen, and designed a comic book superhero – Wheelchair Man – based on his own life story.

Progeria
